Robredo camp asks for patience over 12th senatorial slate spot

Vice President and presidential aspirant Leni Robredo’s camp  on Sunday asked supporters’ patience on who will fill the 12th spot of the vice president’s senatorial slate for the 2022 polls.

Robredo and her running mate Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan already revealed their 11-strong senatorial slate. gmanetwork.com/news/news/nation/807097/vp-robredo-bares-11-strong-senate-slate-for-eleksyon-2022/story/

After having talked with Robredo, Bayan Muna chairperson Neri Colmenares said that his non-inclusion in the slate is what the VP thinks was best for her presidential bid.

In response, Robredo said discussions are still ongoing on whether include Colmenares or labor leader Sonny Matula in their senatorial list.

On the other hand, Robredo’s spokesman, Attorney Barry Gutierrez, asked supporters and groups for patience over the final senatorial lineup, adding that they  are making necessary processes to choose their candidates.

Hintayin natin,” Gutierrez said.

(Just wait. There’s one name that will be announced. At this point, there is no need to rush. Some people are claiming that it is already the final decision. But let’s wait.)

(We understand their feelings and some groups are asking to be included in Leni’s slate.)

(Thank you, but we should have a little patience for the process to continue. There are a lot of people being coordinated with and at the right time, we will have a decision regarding this issue.)

He further said there are four or five other people who are being considered for the 12th spot.

Local officials throw support

Meanwhile, Gutierrez also revealed that local officials, such as Cebu Vice Governor Hilario Davide III, are throwing their support for Robredo’s presidential bid

(There are several local officials who are giving support including vice governor Davide who is also from Liberal Party. Other local chief executives were also giving support especially in Bicol, her home region.)

Also, Gutierrez said they are not too worried for Robredo during the elections as they earned the support of ordinary Filipinos. —LBG, GMA News
