Pharmally execs Ong, Dargani ‘in good condition, cooperative’ in Pasay jail –BJMP

Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corporation officials Linconn Ong and Mohit Dargani were in good condition and cooperative a day after their transfer to the Pasay City Jail, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) spokesperson Xavier Solda said Tuesday.

“Mabuti naman ang kalagayan ni Mr. Mohit Dargani at Mr. Linconn Ong. (Ong and Dargani are in good condition). They are cooperative with our personnel,” said Solda in a text message to GMA News Online.

“Bagama’t malayong malayo sa nakasanayan nila, nakakapag-adjust naman sila (It isn’t the environment they’re used to but they were able to adjust),” he added.

Ong, Pharmally’s director, and Dargani, the firm’s corporate secretary and treasurer, were transferred to Pasay jail from Senate Monday.

The two officials are staying at an isolation cell inside Pasay jail for the mandatory quarantine for the next 10 to 14 days as part of BJMP’s health protocols, said Solda.

Prior to the transfer, Dargani and Ong underwent a medical exam and COVID-19 antigen test. The BJMP also earlier vowed that there will be no special treatment for the detainees.

Last week, the Senate blue ribbon committee, headed by Senator Richard Gordon, ordered Pharmally officials to be detained to Pasay City Jail after the latter did not provide details on the location of the company’s financial statements.

The Senate panel is currently probing the transfer of P42 billion COVID-19 funds from the Department of Health to the Procurement Service-Department of Budget and Management (PS-DBM).

The PS-DBM’s purchase of P8.6 billion worth of COVID-19 equipment from Pharmally is also being questioned at the Senate inquiry.

The Senate committee also uncovered that the controversial firm only had P625,000 paid-up capital when it entered transactions with the government.—AOL, GMA News
