Pacquiao says hard work, discipline from boxing fueled public service

Senator Manny Pacquiao on Monday said he applied hard work and discipline that he learned from boxing in being a public servant.

In a Go Negosyo Forum, Pacquiao, a presidential aspirant, was asked what lessons from being a boxing legend that he applied in working at the government.

Pacquiao said hard work and discipline helped him focus his duties in helping the poor.

“Marami akong natutuhan sa boxing. Unang una disiplina, hard work at talagang focus sa goal mo na makamit lalong lalo na being a public servant, talagang focus ako para matulungan ang mga kababayan na mahihirap at nagugutom,” the senator said.

(I learned a lot from boxing. First, discipline, hard work and focus on your goals especially when I became a public servant, I focused on helping our people, those who are suffering from poverty and hunger.)
