Seniors now allowed at Pansol resorts savor heat of hot springs

Some seniors citizens who have had to stay at home during the pandemic are now savoring the hot springs in Pansol, Laguna after the resorts opened their doors recently.

The government has recently allowed the reopening of private resorts for persons aged 18 to 65 amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Oscar Oida’s report on “24 Oras” on Wednesday, persons aged 66 and above are also allowed, but they have to be fully vaccinated against the virus.

Minors, however, are still not allowed.

“Kasi noong nagpupunta ako dito, malakas katawan ko. Eh noong nawala… Wala akong magawa, eh” a senior citizen at one of the hot spring pools said.

“Iba talaga binibigay ng tubig na ito, eh. Imbes na mag-exercise,” he added.

The development was welcomed by resort owners, who have been greatly affected by the health crisis.

Manny Palencia said they would make sure minimum health standards are observed to prevent the further spread of the virus.

“Naka-filter ‘yong tubig with chlorine at tsaka kailangan ang guests, kailangan magkakakilala, hindi halo-halo,” Palencia said.

Calamba tourism head Conception Herrera said also said regulation officers would be on hand to check if health protocols are being followed.

“‘Yong mga swimming pool wala naman ‘yan sa indoor eh. Naiinitan, nasa labas at tsaka may mga puno sa mga resort. Pampamilya siya, sila lang nasa kwarto, walang iba,” Herrera said.

“Although siyempre, nandoon pa rin ang pag-i-ingat. Pinapayagan pero private pa lang,” she added.  -NB, GMA News
