Security guards should dress appropriately even during the holiday season, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Guillermo Eleazar said Friday.
In a radio interview, Eleazar raised concern about possible confusion and misunderstanding when security guards are not in proper uniform while carrying firearms.
“Hindi naman pupuwede na mga security guard ay hindi na mukhang security guard,” he said.
(Security guards should not look like they are not security guards.)
He then asked the Supervisory Office for Security and Investigation Agencies (SOSIA) to issue the guidelines on security guards wearing holiday costumes.
“Ire-remind natin ang Security Service Group particularly po itong SOSIA na maglabas sila ng panuntunan para malinaw po sa ating mga security agencies,” he said.
(We will remind the Security Service Group particularly SOSIA to issue the guidelines so that it would be clear to the security agencies.)
