President Rodrigo Duterte will virtually attend the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit hosted by Brunei on October 26 to 28 amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Palace said Monday.
“The president will attend it via Zoom or computer hook up. As usual, ASEAN summit will happen first, then followed by ASEAN-Korea, ASEAN-China, ASEAN-US, ASEAN-Japan, ASEAN-Australia, ASEAN Plus Three, East Asia Summit, ASEAN-India, ASEAN-Russia then closing ceremony,” presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said.
Roque, however, could not say what will be the cooperation agreements that the Philippines will push in the ASEAN summit.
“I don’t know the details. I only have the schedule for now,” Roque said.
“But in the coming days, let us wait for the President to make declarations,” he added.—LDF, GMA News
