33% of Filipinos believe their lives will improve next year –SWS

Thirty-three percent of Filipinos are optimistic that their lives will improve in the next 12 months, a Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey indicated on Wednesday.

The pollster’s September 2021 survey found that 33% Filipinos are optimistic while 45% said their life will stay the same and only 7% said it will worsen next year.

Fourteen percent, however, failed to give a response, SWS also said.

With this, SWS bared that the net personal optimism score is +26, which is classified as high. However, this grade is four points below the very high score of +30 recorded in June 2021 survey.

 

Net personal optimism down in Luzon, NCR

The September 2021 poll also found that net personal optimism in Metro Manila fell from very high with +34  in June to high with +24 in September.

Likewise, it declined in Balance Luzon from +38 which is very high  in June to +28 which is high in September.

But in Mindanao, the optimism rate increased from +24 tagged as high in June to +30 classified as very high in September.

It maintained its “fair” score in Visayas from +15 in June to +18 in September.

SWS said the survey, which was conducted from September 12 to September 16, 2021, used interviews of 1,200 adults nationwide with 300 each in Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao.

Meanwhile, the sampling error margins are ±3% for national percentages and ±6% for Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao. — BM, GMA News
