Red Cross: P119.6M of Gordon s PDAF fully liquidated

The Priority Development Assistance Fund of Senator Richard Gordon amounting to P119.6 million that were used to fund Philippine Red Cross programs are fully liquidated and audited, the PRC said Friday.

“Such allocation was allowed under PDAF guidelines,” the PRC said in a statement.

The PRC said that Gordon allocated his PDAF to the Department of Social Welfare and Development to fund programs as well as for the purchase of ambulance units, motorcycle units, medical supplies, and disaster preparedness equipment supplies from 2004 to 2010.

It was also used for livelihood training, blood service and disaster facility, fruits of hope, medical and funeral assistance, scholarship program, soup kitchen, and microfinancing.

Gordon previously stressed that the portion of his PDAF that was given to the PRC in 2010 was all liquidated and approved.

Similarly, the PRC said it submitted all its fund utilization reports to the DSWD Internal Audit Services for liquidation.

“The DSWD-IAS has audited these transactions between the DSWD and PRC and has issued Certificates of Allowable Expenses for all of them,” it said.

“This means that all the PDAF of Sen. Gordon from 2004 to 2010 have been fully liquidated, accounted for, and audited, and expenses have been certified as allowable expenditures by the DSWD-IAS,” it added.

The issue stemmed from President Rodrigo Duterte’s remark on whether Gordon parked P88 million of pork barrel funds in the PRC.

In response, Gordon said the President was “getting angry” amid the Senate blue ribbon committee’s investigation into the alleged overpriced medical supplies procured by the government. — RSJ, GMA News
