Julian Ongpin expected to show up at NBI next week

Julian Ongpin is expected to answer the subpoena issued by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in connection to the death of artist Bree Jonson next week.

According to John Consulta’s report on “24 Oras Weekend,” the subpoena for Ongpin, son of businessman Roberto Ongpin, was formally accepted in Baguio City.

“Inimbitahan natin si Mr. Julian Ongpin na pumunta dito sa NBI para maibigay ang kanyang pahayag at ito rin ang kanyang pagkakataon para mailahad ang kanyang kwento sa mga nangyari sa La Union,” NBI director Eric Distor said.

(We invited Mr. Julian Ongpin to give his statement so his side of the story on what happened in La Union will be heard.)

Jonson was found dead in the room she shared with Ongpin at a beach resort in La Union on September 22. She was laid to rest in Davao on September 30.

The NBI had also begun analyzing the body fluids and nails taken from Jonson.

“Malinaw ang bilin ni Pangulong Duterte. Imbestigahan ang nangyaring pagkamatay ni Bree Jonson. Lahat ng anggulo ay titignan natin,” Distor said.

(President Duterte’s order is clear. Investigate the death of Bree Jonson. We will look at all angles.)

Meanwhile, Salome, Jonson’s mother, said some of Jonson’s organs were missing.

“Tatlong organ, missing. The trachea, the heart, and the stomach. ‘Yung trachea inamin ng Camp Crame lab is nasa kanila, so they should return that to us. Now, the heart and the stomach is missing,” she said.

(Three organs are missing: the trachea, the heart, and the stomach. The Camp Crame Lab admitted that they have the trachea, so they should return that to us. Now, the heart and the stomach are missing.)

The Philippine National Police has yet to issue a statement on this.  — Joahna Lei Casilao/DVM, GMA News
