PNP working with NBI to shed light on Jonson’s death -Eleazar

PNP Chief Police General Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar on Friday said they are working together with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to shed light on the death of painter Bree Jonson.

In a statement, Eleazar said police investigators, lead by Police Regional Office 1 Regional Director Police Brigadier General Emmanuel Peralta, was sharing information with NBI agents.

“Ilang araw nang nagtutulungan ang inyong PNP at NBI sa pag-iimbestiga ng kasong ito kaya kampante kami na walang banggaan ng resulta na magaganap sa paghahanap ng katotohanan sa pangyayaring ito,” Eleazar said.

(The PNP and NBI have been working together for days investigating this case. So we are confident that there will be no conflict in the results as we search for the truth in the incident.)

The PNP chief added that the organization was waiting for the results of the autopsy performed by forensics experts from the Crime Laboratory of PRO1, while the NBI is expected to perform its autopsy in Manila.

“We respect and fully understand the decision of the family of Bree Jonson to exhaust all the means to find out the truth on this unfortunate incident,” Eleazar said.

The Jonson family’s legal team on Thursday claimed her body bore signs of struggle contrary to “statements circulating on social media.” — DVM, GMA News
