St. Luke’s Medical Center on Friday clarified that the resignation of health workers, particularly nurses, is not at alarming levels, as it vowed to realign its workforce with the demands amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“St. Luke’s Medical Center would like to clarify that the number of nurses resigning is not at alarming levels as earlier reported,” it said in a statement.
The management said even before the pandemic, they have been continuously hiring and training nurses for both of their hospitals to make sure that any resignation “will be immediately addressed.”
“Rest assured, SLMC is fully prepared to realign its workforce with the current demands to prevent any disruption of hospital services and patient care,” it said.
St. Luke’s executive vice president and chief medical officer Dr. Benjamin Campomanes on Thursday attributed the full capacity status of its hospitals in Quezon City and Taguig City to the resignation of health workers.
In a radio interview, Campomanes said that both of their hospitals can no longer accept COVID-19 patients for now.—Jamil Santos/AOL, GMA News
