MMDA nurse delivers baby at COVID-19 vaccination site

A nurse from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority helped a woman give birth at a vaccination site.

According to Mark Salazar’s report on “24 Oras” on Tuesday, Kat Palma just finished her shift as a vaccinator when a tricycle driver informed her that a woman was already about to give birth.

She said they could not wait for the ambulance any longer as the woman was already in pain.

(We didn’t cut the umbilical cord because we didn’t have any sterilized instruments. What we did was we attempted to find a hospital that would take in the baby. The patient said they attempted to get to a lying-in clinic, but they were turned away because they were closed.)

Eventually, the mother and her baby girl were brought to the Fabella Hospital. — Ma. Angelica Garcia/DVM, GMA News
