Gov’t to use OneHealthPass to streamline requirements for travelers amid pandemic

Malacañang said Friday that the government will implement the  OneHealthPass, an online portal where inbound travelers to the Philippines will provide their health status, starting September amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said this developed after the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) approved the adoption of the OneHealthPass which will be implemented by the Bureau of Quarantine and Department of Transportation.

Roque, in a statement, said that OneHealthPass would promote convenient and seamless movement of international travelers by streamlining documentary requirements of arriving international passengers so they won’t have to fill out multiple health forms upon their arrival at the airport and when they reach the local government of their destination.

Likewise, Roque also announced that the IATF approved the request of the Philippine Racing Commission for the operation of Off-Track Betting (OTB) stations in Metro Manila, which is still under a modified enhanced community quarantine until August 31, provided that the local government green lights it.

“The operation of OTBs will be strictly limited to selling of tickets and shall ensure the enforcement of health and safety protocols and observance of minimum public health standards within their premises,” Roque said. — DVM, GMA News
