FDA building to close for disinfection after 29 employees get COVID-19

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) building in Muntinlupa City will be closed on Friday, Aug. 27 after it recorded more than 20 COVID-19 cases among its employees, its chief said Thursday.

In a text message, FDA Director General Eric Domingo said the building will be shut down for one day to give way for disinfection.

“For disinfection tomorrow. We have 29 cases,” he said when asked about the building’s closure.

To date, Philippines’ coronavirus tally reached  1,899,200 that includes  131,921 active cases, at least 1,734,551 recoveries and 32,728 deaths.

Since Aug. 11, the Department of Health has been reporting more than 10,000 new COVID-19 cases daily in the Philippines amid the spread of the highly infectious Delta coronavirus variant. — BAP, GMA News
